This rotund little fella – Erithacus rubecula – is an enduring symbol of British wintertime. I’ve used simple shapes – mainly circles – for the basic construction and given it a bit of texture with tree-bark for the wings and tail, wood-grain for the beanie hat, the inside of a flower for the red breast and a small repeating pattern for the dapper green scarf.
